Pictures!!!

We took the boys last Sat, Oct 25, to have pictures taken. October saw Little Man's 3rd birthday and Peanut was 6 months old on the 25th. That made it the perfect time to have pictures taken. There are quite a few (& this is not all of them) but here they are. Enjoy!!

Halloween 2008

Another successful Halloween. Although I'm not going to lie, I wasn't so sure it would be.

We started off the day by heading to town to find a costume for Little Man and some sort of onesie for Peanut. My hope was that I'd find some good deals since I'd waited until the last minute. We really did find a couple of great deals. We got a Thomas the Tank costume for 30% off and I only paid a whopping 99 cents for Peanut's "First Halloween" onesie. I had trouble finding something for Peanut and I really started to feel guilty. We did all of that nonsense for Little Man so we couldn't NOT do it for Peanut. Thankfully Toys R Us was stocked and clearanced. :)

My sister and Diva came out and we took the kiddos to a local church for their fall festival. The kids had a blast and then we took them trick-or-treating. They had a lot of fun with that too. Little Man was having a LOT of fun telling people "trick or treat" and "bye-bye" in his oh so cute butchered speech.

Here are Little Man & Diva in their costumes. He's Thomas & she is a Punk Pirate. His costume was WAY too big but that's okay, he can dress up in it for the next year, lol. They were both adorable though. Sorry the background is so cluttered, we meant to take more pics of the kids once we went outside but they were ready to get in the car and go, lol. Perhaps I'll get some time and remove that background for a less busy one. ;)

Peanut & his "My 1st Halloween" onesie. Awwwww.....

This may be my very favorite picture of the two of them together...EVER. How sweet is that?

(I promise, the car wasn't moving when these pictures of these unbuckled cuties was taken.)

La-de-da

Things are still crazy in our house. The ridiculously cold temps we had earlier this week are gone. Thank goodness. I used to say I hated the heat. Now I hate the cold. Visiting the cold and snow are fine but I have no desire to mess with it on a regular basis. I prefer a swimming pool when it's 100 degrees outside! I have arthritis and the cold just makes everything hurt.

Little Man is doing well. He's now had another speech therapist tell us he's showing some clear apraxic tendencies. It's interesting to us because we realize that no matter how often or correctly you model a word it doesn't matter to him. It does make me feel less guilty that he's not in some sort of structured social setting with people his age though. A year ago we figured it would help his speech. If he's got apraxia that isn't going to matter and that's what our observation has been. We used to figure that if he heard enough little people say 'daddy' instead of his word 'gaga' then perhaps he'd use 'daddy.' Now we realize it's not going to matter, he just doesn't see how 'gaga' isn't the same word.

I say another speech therapist because he is currently receiving speech therapy from 2 places. One is private and the other is through the school. I really like both therapists and I see that each of them have something to offer to Little Man so I see no need to change it.

Peanut is doing okay. We are trying like mad to transition him from sleeping in his swing to his crib. This means a lot of sleep deprivation and aggravation. He's just getting too big for the swing very quickly. This too shall pass.

Tomorrow is Halloween and I have no idea what the boys will be. How sad is that? For one I haven't had time even though I've browsed a bit. And for another thing, I just flat out don't like Halloween. I have no idea what the point of it is, but it's just not my kind of holiday. That creates a lack of motivation. The good news is that my sister and Diva are coming out here and that will be a ton of fun. These 2 kids ALWAYS have a blast together!

Sea World

For Little Man's birthday we went to Sea World in San Antonio. Here is the slide show. Other than the fact that I got very sick while we were gone we had a great time.

Just want to point out that you can speed up, slow down or pause the slide show in the bottom left corner of it.

Our Crazy Life

I don't dare ask, "what next?" I'm sure I'll find out whether I ask or not anyway, lol.

Seriously though, it's been a long time since my last post and things have been downright crazy.

The short version: Inlaws came to town for Little Man's birthday and we went to Sea World in San Antonio. SO MUCH FUN! While gone, I got sick. Inlaws went home, I went to the emergency room only to find out I was much sicker than I realized. I spent 5 days in the hospital, missed Little Man's birthday party and the county fair. He had a great time though. Instead of having a 'real' party he went to the county fair with Diva. They had a ton of fun.

Got out of the hospital on a Mon and the next day Little Man had the MRI on his head (brain). Then Friday we left Peanut with my sister and took Little Man to meet Thomas the Tank. (3 hours one way so we spent the night.) Again, SO MUCH FUN!

So for the last few days I've been TRYING to take it easy. I have a kidney stone and a stint, what a royal PITA. Saw the doc today; going to have another CT scan done next week to make sure the stone is still there and we'll go from there. Hopefully in the next week or 2 this will all be over!

Pictures are uploaded already to the online photo album. Only have 2 that I've uploaded to share here today since time is limited.

Little Man with Thomas the Tank (he also met Sir Topphamhat)

Peanut was glad to see us, hehe :)
